Don't Forget Your Receipt is a research-based project on gender and fashion. In the past few years, brands have been using "androgynous", "genderless", "gender-neutral", and "unisex" to describe progressive clothing collections. DFYR aims to understand the roots of such terms, their place within our gendered society and mainstream fashion.
The apparent desire to distance themselves from the gender binary contradicts their androcentric and gendered marketing narratives. DFYR is both a critique and an encouragement to push existing boundaries.
